You were rocking a latex dress earlier this season. Either you have good genes or I need the number of your trainer.
“[laughs] During that first wardrobe fitting, I knew I would have my midriff showing. I thought, ‘I need to get serious’ and started going to ab classes more regularly.”
Is there a lot of pressure to stay thin?
“The other day I realized as long as I’m in this business, I’m going to be hungry. The camera really does add 10 pounds. I’m trying to stay under the weight I want to look like on TV. It’s a good incentive to stay slim and is probably adding years to my life.”

I think Pam has some of the best scenes in the show, especially when she tried to stop Sookie in the season premiere.
Right?! I am so lucky to have such great words to say.
How do you relate to your character? She’s not human, but there are human elements to Pam.
Definitely, she was human 100 years ago. She was also very eager to leave that world once she saw the option of Eric’s power and immortality and she’s never looked back. That’s one of the things that makes Pam so much fun to play. She is un-remorseful, unapologetic, which are two traits some of us could probably use a touch of. She is, in some ways, who I wish I could be but alas, that directness might leave me very lonely.

PopWrap: Not trying to be biased, but I think Pam had some of the best scenes in Sunday’s season premiere.
Kristin Bauer: It’s been like that all season. I get an email saying, “the script’s coming” and I stay home to read them immediately. And every single script that came was a new reveal about who Pam is and that has been endlessly fun. The sarcasm has stayed and the great outfits have stayed, but they’ve added this other layer where we actually find out who she is, how deep her relationship with Eric is, sexually who she is, how tough she is, how loyal she is and it’s incredibly fun.

Here is an excerpt:
SW: Alan Ball has said that your character, Pam, has a “lesbian vibe.” What do you think about her?
Yeah! Well, when I booked the job I was in the Philippines, and I was there for a month, and I had just read for True Blood and the producer of that movie said, “We have to get you back; you have to start work the day after you get back,” and I said, “On what?” And she said, True Blood. I was excited that I got that. (The producers) emailed me the first scene that I had — it was with Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) — and I show up the next day, deliriously tired, not knowing what country I was in, and when I read it I thought, “Oh, she (Pam) likes Bill and Sookie equally.” So it came across in the writing to me that she was definitely at least bisexual; she at least didn’t discriminate — if you’re a hot woman, you’re a hot woman, and if you’re a hot guy, you’re a hot guy. There was some line about how sweet it is looking at Sookie. I didn’t think anything of it; I thought, “Oh, that’s who she is.” Then a few episodes later there was a scene with Sookie in the bathroom where she pulls a piece of vampire Longshadow out of her cleavage and comes really close and says, “I’m beginning to see what all the fuss is about you.” I thought, “Oh yeah, she really likes Sookie.” I didn’t think anything of it. So it makes sense to me; it was in the writing, and it makes sense to me for Pam.
