Jason is surprised by his fellow LOD (Light of Day) members when they play a prank on him. They had him unknowingly walk into what looked like a Vampire massacre. Not appreciating their humor, he proceeds to fight back and tell them Vampires are no joke and they should be taking this more seriously.
Bill reluctantly lets Hoyt leave after he threw Jessica off of him. Warning Hoyt for his own good to stay away from Jessica. Of course, Hoyt has no plans on doing that. Making Jessica quite happy, he lets her know that he doesn’t believe them that she would ever hurt her.
Daphne and Sam enjoy their private midnight swim and soon discover they have much in common. It seems as if their desire is definitely building for each other.
Tara let’s Sookie know that she accepts her offer to be room mates. This of course makes Sookie very happy. Now Tara has the unpleasant task of letting Maryann know of her plans to leave. Maryann doesn’t seem to mind when Tara talks to her a minute later.
After a lengthy discussion about the history of the first “Vampire”, Jason again upsets his fellow LOD members with his ridiculous knowledge or lack of the knowledge of the Bible. Once again making them jealous of his budding friendship with Sarah and Steve.
Before leaving for Dallas, Sookie hands Tara her birthday gift. Today is Tara’s 26th birthday. Sookie also explains to Tara what how she had to make a deal with Eric to set Lafayette free.
Bud and the coroner look over the deceased body of Miss Jeanette. Taking note of the deep scratches on her back and the fact that her heart had been ripped out. Andy shows up asking about the pig Tara said she saw the night of her DUI. Of course this makes the sheriff upset and he soon realizes that Andy’s been drinking and request his badge back.
Tara stops by Lafayette’s to hear for herself what happened to him and to make sure he was alright. Lafayette soon lets her know that he wants none of meddling and asks her to leave.
Sookie is working at Merlotte’s when she finds out from Terry that Sam plans on leaving. This feuds a fight between Sam and Sookie. She is upset because he had no intention of telling her about him leaving. Figuring she was too busy with Bill to even notice his absence. Of course, Sookie chooses this time to ask for a few days off so she can go to Dallas.
By herself in Sookie’s house, Tara finds herself crying and depressed about being alone on her birthday. She is suddenly alert when she here’s a scuffle on the porch. Cautiously, she opens the door only to find Maryann, Karl and Eggs there with a birthday cake. Apparently, Maryann has decided to throw her a party at Sookie’s house for her.
After a little target practice shooting Vampires, Steve has Jason come over for a barbeque with him and Sarah. Enjoying his beer, Jason soon finds himself fantasizing about Sarah. Trying to avoid his train of thoughts, Jason finds out that Steve has asked him to be a soldier of God.
Merlotte’s is having a very slow night due to Tara’s birthday party. Seeing no way around it, Sam let’s Earleen and Daphne leave early to go to the party. Not wanting to go to the party himself, Sam finds that he will have to attend anyways. Lettie Mae has stopped on by and asks him to give Tara her birthday gift.
Tara’s birthday party is in full swing when Sam stops on by. Facing Maryann was the last thing he wanted. Sam tries to warn her not to hurt his friends. Of course Maryann will hear none of that. With Sam walking towards Daphne, Maryann grabs up the gift he brought and proceeds to throw it in the bushes on her way out the door.
Upon arriving at the Dallas airport, Sookie soon realizes that she was about to be kidnapped. Luckily, Bill flies out of his coffin to save her just in time. Glimmering the limo driver later, Bill finds out that the driver was sent by the “Light of Day” church to abduct Sookie.
Alone in the woods outside the party, Maryann begins to chant in a different language. She seems to be putting the party guests in a spell. Tara and Eggs are starting to dance more intimately and soon head up stairs. Everyone is drinking and dancing very seductively as Maryann chants away.
Meanwhile, Lafayette gets an unwanted visit by Eric. Letting Eric know that he can not come in unless he allows him to. Eric soon convinces him that they only way for him to heal is to drink some of his blood. Lafayette realizes that he is right and proceeds to drink from Eric’s wrist. Eric’s 1000 year old blood give Lafayette a huge burst of energy. Making him move and dance like a mad man.
Jason heads back to his room to pack up to move into the main house. Of course, his fellow LOD members are jealous and tell him he’s only the favorite because Sarah has the “hot’s” for him. Later on, Jason starts to wonder if they’re right when Sarah comes into his room in a sexy nightie. She just wants to make sure he’s comfortable and all settled in.
Sookie and Bill are interrupted from their kissing when Eric shows up at their hotel. Eric tells Bill that if they don’t find Godric, the Vampires in Texas will start hunting and killing humans in retaliation.
Daphne and Sam are feeding each other cake and than they begin to kiss. Feeling that they are going to be intimately involved, Sam wants to tell Daphne his secret. Surprising him, Daphne lets him know that she already knows his secret and what he is.
Tara’s party soon becomes a little out of control. Guests start to undress and dance seductively. Many of their eyes turn completely black. They soon begin to shove cake all over themselves and on each other. Maryann is still in the woods chanting and vibrating. As she does this, she raises her arms towards the sky and her hands start to form into some sort of claws.
At the hotel in Dallas, Sookie opens the door for room service only to see that it was for Jessica, Apparently, she ordered a hot young man with a particular blood type she likes. Sookie doesn’t know what to do but soon discovers that the room service man “Barry” can also read her thoughts. Seeing that she has discovered his secret, Barry runs down the hallway with Sookie not too far behind.
