At Tara’s birthday party, Sam takes off after Daphne into the woods. Running after her, Sam stumbles upon a deer only to be surprised to see the deer transform into Daphne. Daphne is a shape shifter and tells Sam he isn’t alone any more.
Sookie takes off out of the hotel room to find Barry. Once she catches up to him, Barry let’s her know that he doesn’t want anything to do with her. He sees his gift or telepathy as a curse. Sookie tries to convince him that he can control it but Barry wants no part and runs off.
Bill is angry at Jessica for “ordering” a man to “drink” from off of the room service menu. Not liking the conversation or Bill’s tone, Jessica storms off to her room to call Hoyt. Hoyt and Jessica decide to watch TV together while on the phone with one another.
Soon upon Sookie’s arrival, Bill turns his anger towards her. He does not want her roaming the halls of the hotel, He feels it isn’t safe since this is a Vampire hotel. Sookie soon eases his anger and proceeds to convince him that going to bed would be a better idea.
Jason is rudely awoken by a loud horn in his ears. Apparently, it’s time for some grueling exercises outside at the LODI. With Gabe. Gabe continues to be hard on them. Wanting to make the strong “Soldiers of the Sun”. Sarah happily looks on.
Down in the lobby on her way to take advantage of the hotel’s continental breakfast, Sookie again runs into Barry. She has no luck again with him and heads on back to the room.
Opening up at Merlotte’s was pretty trying for Daphne. Arlene is giving her a hard time about not doing her closing prep the night before and refuses to help her out. It seems as though Arlene is irritated that Daphne is having a fling with Sam. Arlene become more irritated when Daphne convinces Terry to give her a hand.
Surprising everyone, Lafayette walks through the front door. Arlene embraces him and Terry is more relieved for the help in the kitchen. Lafayette asks Sam if he could talk to him privately. Sam gets on his case about just up and disappearing but Lafayette doesn’t budge on what had happened to him. Instead, in a low voice, he just asks Sam for his job back. Sam agrees but is concerned about Lafayette and his new somber attitude.
Coming down stairs the morning after her birthday party, Tara discovers Maryann making herself at home in the kitchen. Maryann has taken upon herself to move on in and settle Karl, Eggs and herself as Tara’s new house mates. Tara in so many words lets Maryann know that she and the others can not move in.
During the tough exercise regiment, Luke struggles to climb over a fence. Having the “drill sergeant” right in his ear telling him that he’s just manage to let his whole family dies because he couldn’t get to them faster, Luke breaks down. Jason, not liking what he’s sees and how Luke is being treated, jumps in and climbs the fence, extending a hand down to help Luke over the fence.
Meanwhile, back at the hotel in Dallas, Sookie, Eric and Bill meet up with Dallas Vampires Stan and Isabel. Isabel and Stan seem to be fighting which makes Eric very mad. Telling them that fighting is not going to help find Godric. Sookie comes up with a plan that Bill doesn’t like but the Vampires agree it to be the only way. Later, in the lobby, Sookie is disappointed to find out that Barry had quit.
Sookie will join the “Fellowship of the Sun” in disguise and see if she can read their minds and try to find Godric. Asking Eric why Godric is so important to him, Eric finally let’s Bill know that Godric was his “Maker”. Many many years before, Godric approached Eric on his death bed and saved his life by making him a Vampire.
Jason unknowingly interrupts Steve and Sarah arguing about why she doesn’t know everything that’s going on. Steve dismisses Sarah and takes Jason into a secret weapons room. Steve seems quite proud to show Jason all his weapons that can kill Vampires.
Pulling up outside of Merlotte’s, Maryann has Karl wait with her in the car. Closing her eyes, Maryann proceeds to put a spell on the workers. Causing everyone to snap at each other. Most of their irritation seems directed at Tara.
Enjoying a leisurely bath, Jason get’s a surprise visit from Sarah. Locking the door on her way in, Sarah approaches Jason in the bath tub. She starts to wash his chest but eventually moves lower and to Jason’s surprise, begins to wash his intimate parts under water.
Closing up Merlotte’s, Daphne and Sam soon find themselves talking about being shape shifters and how they feel when they change. One thing leads to another and soon they are undressing each other and heading for the pool table.
Coming in after a very rough night at the bar, Tara is actually relieved to see Maryann there in the kitchen dressed up almost like Sookie’s grandmother. Tara let’s Maryann know that she would be very happy if they could stay with her. Heading upstairs, Tara is also happy to see Eggs waiting for her in bed.
After finding out that Barry had quit his job earlier, Sookie goes upstairs to the room she shares with Bill. They start to kiss and make love. Coming down the hall outside their room, a beautiful Vampire stops when she hears Bill’s name being called out. Instantly, her fangs come down. It seems that Bill’s “maker” is in the hotel too.
