Outside of Godric’s house, Bill tells Lorena that there will never be a “us” again. That she is dead to him. Lorena leaves and soon after the house explodes. Bill races in to see if he can find Sookie. He finds Sookie alive but Eric is laying on top of her. Eric protected her from the blast by placing his body in front of hers. A few Vampires and humans have been killed. Eric asks Bill to take care of the humans that started this.
Eric tells Sookie that he is dying. He has pieces of silver inside of him that need to be removed in order for him to live. Reluctantly, Sookie gives in and proceeds to suck the silver pieces from Eric’s body.
Bill finds Sookie finishing up with Eric but informs her that Eric was actually healing on his own. Eric had lied to her so that she would end up with his blood in her. Sookie is very upset by this because now Eric will have a connection to her. He will know her thoughts, where she is and will start to have a sexual attraction to Eric.
Hoyt and Jessica are at Bill’s house discussing her situation. She is upset thinking about being a virgin Vampire. Hoyt calms her down and tells her that he would like Jessica to meet his mother. He also warns her that his mother will probably not be very nice to her. Jessica doesn’t care and is just thrilled about it.
Tara and Eggs wake up again in the morning not knowing what happened to them the night before. Tara definitely doesn’t know how she got all the bruises on her face. Maryann tells them that it’s nice not to know everything and that a little “chaos” is a good thing. He suggest that it’s like being on a “spiritual journey”. Tara and Eggs exchange confused glances.
Not being able to sleep, Sookie heads over to Jason’s room at the hotel. He to is having problems sleeping. Keeping each other company, they discuss what happened and what happened in the past. Promising to look after each other and feeling a bit better, Jason decides to turn on the TV. Of course, there is Steve and Sarah on TV being interviewed by the spokesperson for the Vampire League, Nan Flanagan. Steve and Sarah start to fight with each other about ridiculous stuff instead of the “cause” on the air.
Down at Merlotte’s, Arlene is having a hard time keeping up. With Daphne gone, she pretty much is the only waitress. Timidly approaching Terry, Arlene asks him why he’s being extra “weird” around her. He opens up and says that it’s because he can’t remember anything and he feels really bad about it. This of course takes a huge load off of Arlene’s mind.
Tara arrives at the bar with Egg’s a little bit late. Lafayette sees her bruised face and instantly starts in with Egg’s. He wants to know why Tara would let a man do this after living with her abusive mother. He wants Egg’s to stay away from Tara. Soon they begin to fight but Tara does get Egg’s to leave with her.
Hoyt talks to his mother later about accepting Jessica as his girlfriend. Of course, Maxine wants no part of it. Having had enough of his mother’s tight control, Hoyt tells his mother that she has so much hatred and that with or without her blessing, he is staying with Jessica.
Tossing and turning, Sookie finally falls into a deep sleep and begins to dream of her and Eric. They are laying together as lovers in a bed. Speaking intimately with one another as if they are in love. Lorena is there too. She is seated in a chair in a darkened corner. Sookie tells her that she loves Bill even as she begins to make love to Eric. Lorena tells her that she never loved Bill and Sookie awakens suddenly. Sookie scoots closer to Bill and snuggles up next to him.
Maryann shows up at the jail. Bud is running on no sleep because he has most of the town behind bars. Maryann tells him that she will go in and settle them all down. Feeling relieved, Bud soon falls into a trance and his eyes turn black. Maryann orders him to “stay”. She goes to the cells in the back hoping to find Sam but finds out instead that he shape shifted and escaped. Visibly upset, Maryann unlocks all the cell doors and sets the towns people free.
Hoyt and Jessica meet up with his mother at Merlotte’s. Hoping to have a nice visit, Hoyt’s hopes are soon dashed when Maxine lashes out at Jessica. Jessica tells her that she can give Hoyt everything a human can. Maxine shouts back that she can’t give him babies. This of course upsets Jessica. Jessica leaves and Hoyt follows her telling his mother not to expect him home.
At Sookie’s, Tara, Egg’s and Maryann are playing cards and slamming down shots of liquor. A moment later, in walks LaFayette and Lettie Mae. They have come to take Tara away. Of course, Egg’s will have no part of that. Maryann, knowing that Lettie Mae’s a recovering alcoholic, offers her a drink of Vodka.
LaFayette sees a change in Tara and asks if she’s even in there. Tara and Egg’s eyes have now turned black. Tara reaches for her mother and begins to
choke her. Egg’s and Lafayette start fighting and LaFayette is winning and decides to stop and grab Tara. He throws her over his shoulder and runs with her and Lettie Mae out the door. Egg’s screams for her but Maryann tells him not to worry, Tara will be back.
Nan Flanagan has a meeting with all those that were involved in the bombing. She decides to have Godric step down as Sheriff and puts Isabel in charge. Godric accepts his punishment and asks that everyone forgive him for his poor judgment. After the meeting, Bill pays Eric back for what he did to Sookie by punching him in the face. Eric tells him that it doesn’t change anything, he’s a part of her now.
In a gust of wind, Maryann enters Merlotte’s. In a deep voice she says “The God who come demands His sacrifice…Where is Sam Merlotte?” Everyone watches her and their eyes all turn black.
Back at the Hotel Camilla, Sookie and Bill discuss Godric. Godric feels he is to blame for all the Vampire and human deaths. They know that he intends to wait for the dawn’s early light and kill himself. Sookie convinces Bill that she needs to be with Godric in his final moments.
Eric is on the roof of the hotel and he tries to convince Godric not to do this. Passionately speaking in Swedish, Eric tries again to convince Godric not to die. Godric commands him as his maker to leave. Sookie steps in and asks Godric id he’s scared. He tells her he’s full of joy. She begins to cry and tells him that she afraid for him. Soon he begins to smoke and soon he is on fire. He burns brightly until he just disappears.
