Bill enters the queen’s lair only to find her busy feeding off of another woman. Queen Sophie invites Bill to join her but he quickly declines. Bill is desperate to learn all he can about Maryann but Queen Sophie is slow to help.
Jessica plunges for Hoyt’s mother and sinks her fangs into her neck. She has finally had enough of Maxine’s hurtful comments. Hoyt races over to pull her off of his mother and is disgusted with Jessica’s behavior. Hoyt leaves quickly with his mother and informs Jessica that he should have listened to Bill’s warning about her. Jessica slams the door and begins to cry hysterically.
Back at the Queen’s “day room”, Bill tries to get Sophie to help him and she informs him that “the god who comes” never actually comes. Wanting to leave and be with Sookie, Bill soon finds that hard to do. The Queen insists that he stay and visit and of course, you can’t say no to the Queen.
Tara tries to convince Sookie, Lafayette and her mother to let her go to Egg’s and save him but no one trusts her to leave. Hearing voices outside, Sookie and Lafayette decide to stand guard with a gun on the porch leaving Lettie Mae alone to watch Tara.
Sam explains to a bewildered Jason and Andy that he is a shape-shifter. Jason and Andy decide that they must take control of the situation and be the law in Bon Temps. Jason and Andy head on out to the sheriff’s station to load up on weapons.
Sam hears children’s voices outside and steps out to find out who it is. After some coaxing, he finally get’s Arlene’s kids to come out of hiding. Seeing that they are starving, he brings them into Merlotte’s and makes them some lunch. After talking with the kids, Sam gets the idea to get Eric to help them out with the Maryann situation.
Tara convinces Lettie Mae to release her so that she can save Egg’s. Lettie Mae helps her hoping that it will bring her and Tara closer. In order to get Lettie Mae to help her, Tara told her that she would forgive her for all the hurtful things she had done to her.
Outside, Sookie and Lafayette discuss how Eric had tricked them into drinking his blood. Sharing information about the “sexual” dreams they have also been having about Eric too.
Lettie Mae comes out crying and telling them that there is no way she can watch Tara and listen to all the horrible things she’s saying. Soon, Lafayette turns the gun over to Lettie Mae so that he can watch Tara but soon realizes too late that it was a set-up. Lettie Mae turns the gun on Sookie and Lafayette and demands them to unlock Tara. Lafayette cringes down in fear when the gun is turned on him. He is still traumatized by being shot. Tara comes out and gets the keys to Sookie’s car so that she can head over to save Egg’s.
Jason and Andy pull up to the sheriff’s station and are shocked to see locals running around in their underwear. They are soon confronted by Rosie who seems to want Jason really bad. Knowing it’s the only way to keep her quiet, Jason stays behind to handle Rosie while Andy loads up the weapons. Surprising them both, Kevin puts a gun to Jason’s head but turns around to shoot Andy in the chest instead. Seeing this, Jason knocks Kevin out. Thankfully, Andy had on his Kevlar vest.
Sookie catches Lettie Mae off guard and she is able to knock her out. Lafayette gr4abs the gun and they both head out to confront Maryann and save Tara.
Tara quietly enters the house and seeing Egg’s, runs to him. She tries to convince him to leave but is soon interrupted by Maryann. Telling her that it’s Sam she wants and not her, Maryann corrects her and tells her that it was in fact Tara herself that summoned Maryann. The ritual in the woods with Miss Jeannette was pretty much fake but it did manage to summon Maryann. Vibrating, Maryann realizes it has no effect on Tara. Coming closer, Maryann punches Tara in the face and that seems to work because soon Tara’s eyes are once again black. Tara and Egg’s run off together laughing.
The Merlotte’s crowd heads into the kitchen to inform Maryann that “the god who comes” came and that Sam is no more. Realizing that they are all morons, Maryann punishes them and they all begin to hold their heads in pain.
Maxine Fortenberry is in her kitchen preparing a “meal” for Maryann. Hoyt tells her that there is no way she is going to Maryann’s. He had promised after his father died that he would take care of her. Yelling and in a rage Maxine informs Hoyt that his daddy was a closet drinker and that he killed himself. She had told Hoyt that his daddy died fighting off a burglar.
Sookie and Lafayette decide a plan of action outside of her house. Sookie is disgusted at what they have done to her house. Surprising them both, Arlene and Terry jump out of the tree above them. Finding it’s the only way to shut them up, Lafayette soon directs them away with the appeal of his assorted drugs. Sookie is able to escape into her house.
Sam tries to convince Eric to help him fight off Maryann. Telling him that if he ever needed a favor later on, Sam would be there. Eric decides to also visit Queen Sophie for help. Walking Sam and the kids out of Fangtasia, he surprises them all by flying straight up into the dark night.
Sookie cautiously enters the house but is soon confronted by Mike Spencer. Shutting him up, she concedes and lies next to him on the floor. After a minute, she tells him that she wants to be on top. Of course he goes for this. Getting on top, Sookie reaches for a pan and knocks him out with it.
Lafayette unfortunately doesn’t have such luck, suddenly Maryann and Karl are right in front of him. Aiming the gun at Maryann, Lafayette fires off a shot. Maryann puts up her hand and the bullet is deflected but hits Karl, killing him instantly. Looking up at Lafayette, Maryann asks him if he can cook.
At the Queen’s mansion, Bill is becoming quite restless and insists to the Queen that he needs to leave. She would rather he wait till they play Yahtzee. Finally he gets a break when the Queen’s servant informs her that she has a visitor. Bill finds his chance to leave.
Seeing that the visitor is Eric, Bill tells Eric that if he thinks saving Bon Temps will make Sookie all for him, he’s sadly wrong. After a warning to stay away from Sookie, Bill leaves for Bon Temps.
Jason and Andy wait it out a distance from Maryann’s. Jason decides it’s time he finds out why Andy never liked him before. Andy says he feels that Jason has always had it easy in life and love. Jason tells Andy that it isn’t easy and lets him know just exactly he has to do to be the way he is. This seems to shut up Andy and they both load up with guns and head over to Maryann’s.
Sam stands guard outside while the kids are sleeping. Startling him, Bill suddenly appears in front of Sam.
Trying to locate Tara, Sookie searches each room and finally finds her. Tara and Egg’s are trashing her room and building a nest. Sookie approaches the nest on the bed and sees a large egg in the middle. Sookie turns around and starts to scream. Lafayette is right behind her and his eyes have also become black.
