His eyes are now as black as the others, Lafayette informs Tara that Maryann needs the “egg” downstairs. Demanding Sookie to undress and put on a white gown he brought up too. After she dresses, Lafayette drags her downstairs where Maryann informs her she’s to be her “maid of honor”.
Wanting to speak to Sookie privately, Maryann sends the other ladies of the “wedding” party outside. Once alone, Maryann asks Sookie to touch her again like she did before. She says that it felt like :nature” itself was coming through her fingertips. Sookie of course has no idea how she did it the first time. She tries to tell Maryann that she’s just a regular human being. Maryann does not believe her for a second. If Sookie was “normal” Maryann would have been able to channel her energy.
Back at Queen Sophie Anne’s “day room”, Eric is now the one playing Yahtzee with her. Queen Sophie Anne seems disgusted that Bill is in love with Sookie. Warning Eric to not taste Sookie’s blood because he too would probably fall in love with her.
Queen Sophie Anne questions Eric about how Bill knew about the Vampire blood they are selling. Attacking Eric, Queen Sophie Anne stresses her point about betraying her again. Eric promises to take care of Bill.
Andy and Jason cautiously approach his gran’s house. Trying to decide what their best course of action is, they just decide to walk in with guns drawn. Of course, within no time at all, they too have been put under Maryann’s spell and have black eyes now.
Bill tries to convince Sam that he needs him to save Sookie. Sam is nervous and doesn’t believe he can be any help. Bill eventually tells Sam that he has no choice and that he is helping him.
Arlene and the other ladies drink blood from a goblet and proceed to lick the giant ostrich egg. Maryann demands that Sookie does the same. Sookie of course wants no part of it but soon has no choice.
Bill drags Sam into the middle of the mob. Playing the wedding march, Maryann enters the yard bringing Sookie with her. Seeing Sam, Sookie yells for him to be set free.
Bill bargains Sam in exchange for Sookie. Not quite understanding, Sookie screams for Bill to help Sam but he tells her to please trust him.
The ceremony begins with Maryann chanting in Greek and everyone was repeating the chant. Taking the dagger, Eggs plunges the it into Sam’s chest while Sookie looks on in horror. Sam looks at Sookie and in his mind he tells Sookie to use her gift and to destroy the alter. She runs over and breaks the egg and tips over the alter.
Maryann of course is quite mad and takes her anger out on the people making them all wreathe in pain. Sookie yells for her to stop. In a deep voice, Maryann turns her anger towards Sookie. Digging her hands deep into the ground, they come as long claws.
Sookie runs from the ceremony and heads into the woods with Maryann following close behind. Sookie stumbles and Maryann hovers over her. Hearing a sound up ahead, Maryann sees that it is actually a large white bull. Believing it to be her “God”, she leaves Sookie and approaches her “groom”. Standing before the bull, Maryann is soon impaled by the bulls horn releasing dark black blood from her. Moments later, the bull becomes Sam and he pulls out Maryann’s heart. Squishing the heart, Maryann decays and falls to the ground.
Soon, the crowd around at the ceremony becomes themselves again. None of them have any idea what has happened or why they are even there. Hugging Tara close, Sookie has Jason and Andy make sure everyone leaves.
Bill tells Sookie that he had to let Sam drink his blood so that they could go ahead with the plan. Otherwise, Sam would have died from the wound the dagger left.
Maxine Fortenberry eyes to have returned to normal much to Hoyt’s relief. He confronts her about all the hateful things she had said. Hoyt is very upset to learn that what she said about his father was true. He now knows that his mother kept him home and not allowing him to be a man with a life of his own. She kept him home because she just didn’t want to be alone. He leaves and tells her that he wishes Jessica had finished her off.
Eggs washes his hands over and over, feeling that he can’t get the blood off of him. Sookie asks Tara if Eggs is alright but Tara tells her she’s not sure and that Bill is waiting for her upstairs. Going upstairs, Sookie lays in Bill’s arms until the sun is just about up.
The next day, people are all back at Merlotte’s and pretty much it seems that business is as usual. Arlene tries to make up her behavior to her kids by letting them eat whatever they want. Sam asks Sookie to watch the bar for a few days. Surprising Sookie, a delivery comes in for her from Bill. Asking Sam if she could have a moment alone, Sookie races out back to open her gift. It is a beautiful dress and a dinner invitation.
Seeing Sookie outside, Egg’s approaches her. He insists that she help him understand what he did. He can’t feel better until he fills in the gaps of his memory. Sookie tries to tell him that sometimes it’s best not to know. Still he insists and Sookie soon grabs his hands to read his thoughts. Discovering there that he was the one that cut out Miss Jeannette’s and Daphne’s heart. Sookie stops and tries to make Egg’s understand that it wasn’t him, it was Maryann making him do those things. He doesn’t believe her and runs off.
On his way out to meet Sookie, Bill sees Jessica getting ready to leave too. Jessica confesses to Bill that her and Hoyt had a fight and that she’s headed over to his house to apologize.
Sam surprises his adoptive parents with a visit. He insists that they tell him who his birth parents are. His adopted mother tells him that she promised not to tell him and that his birth parents were very bad people. Hearing medical equipment running in the next room, Sam enters and sees his adoptive dad sick in bed. His dad slides over a piece of paper with the birth parents names on it.
Hoyt shows up at Bill’s with flowers for Jessica. He is hoping she will forgive him but apparently, he’s too late. Across town at a truck stop, Jessica is having a good time with a truck driver. After getting him all worked up, she sinks her fangs into his neck and ravages him.
