I Smell A Rat
Sookie is shocked to hear that she is a Faerie. Possibly even a descendant of Aliens. Bill tries to explain to her that Faerie’s have long since believed to no longer exist. The Faerie’s were all wiped out by Vampires. Sookie asks Bill how he knows all of this and he tells her that he met Claudine. Bill tells her about where he went and that he was able to go out in the sun there.
Tara and Jason quickly scramble together and try and cover up all of Franklin’s blood and guts. Grabbing up Franklin’s clothes, Jason heads out to get his truck. Tara finishes covering up the remains and tells Franklin that she hopes he rots in Hell. Jason shows up and Tara jumps in the truck.
Realizing that they are running out of time, Lafayette decides to go to his house to help Calvin. Crystal doesn’t understand and threatens him with bodily harm if her father dies. Lafayette tells Jesus that he needs to give Calvin V because it is the only way he will survive. They carry Calvin to the porch. Lafayette puts a few drops of blood into Calvin’s mouth and they are all shocked when they see him completely heal before their eyes.

Calvin, of course, isn’t too happy about Crystal letting them use V on him. He runs off and she soon follows behind him. Crystal tells Calvin that she is not going home. He demands that she does and to be with Felton and have babies so their bloodline doesn’t die out. She refuses and Calvin tells her that she is dead to him.
Alone in his trailer after the fight, Sam begins to drink heavily and flash back to an earlier time when he got himself in another bad situation. He remembers back to when he and a girl named Charlene used to be together. He had just robbed a jewelry store and the two were checking out the stolen property and they begin to kiss. Before long, Sam gets a little surprise when he feels a gun against his head. Apparently, Charlene had double crossed him and was actually with someone named Jon. Jon knocks Sam out and the two take off with the jewelry.
Bill explains to Sookie that the reason Vampires are drawn to her is her Faerie blood. It is supposed to be delectable and hard to resist. This, of course makes Sookie question whether Bill is truly in love with her or is he just drawn to her blood. Bill tries to convince her that yes, he is drawn to her blood but that he fell in love with her too.
At Fangtasia, Eric has his lawyer there to draw up papers for his final will. He has decided to leave everything to Pam, making her a very wealthy woman if he should meet the true death. Pam on the other hand is not happy about the fact that she feels Eric is not going to try and fight for his life. He tries to explain to her that it is just a precaution in case something was to happen to him. Yvetta comes out to be a witness to the signature and becomes quite ticked off when she learns that she is not getting a thing in his will. Pam and Yvetta both storm off.
Later, Eric shows up at Sookie’s house and confronts Bill about his true intentions toward Sookie. Once again, Eric tries to plant a seed of doubt about Bill in Sookie’s mind. After what she went through at Russell’s house and Eric turning his back on her there, it is he that she doesn’t really trust now.
At Merlotte’s, Arlene listens to Steve Newlin on the TV talk about Vampires and the fact that he was right about them. Looking at Jessica and saying something insulting, Arlene soon finds herself pushed against the counter by Jessica. Jessica tells her that she has had it with small minded, skinny women with bad dye jobs. Once she lets Arlene go, Arlene yells back “once evil always evil”. Tommy tries to confront Jessica and soon she realizes that he likes her. She tries to blow it off.
Hoyt pulls up to let Summer off but she has other plans. Summer decides that the only way to win Hoyt is to offer herself even though she was waiting till she got married. Not knowing how to handle the situation, Hoyt tries to back away and tell her no.
Jason and Tara arrive at his house and discover that Bill and Sookie are already there. Sookie asks if she could stay there a few days. Bill explains that not only are Vampires after her but there are Werewolves too. Tara looks like she’s ready to explode. Taking Jason outside, Bill gets him to promise to watch over Sookie. Inside, Tara tells Sookie that she thinks all Vampires are monsters. Tara finally breaks down and tells Sookie all that she suffered at Franklin’s hands.
Jesus convinces Lafayette to take some V with him. Lafayette explains that V effects everyone differently and he really didn’t know what to expect with Jesus. Jesus tells Lafayette that it will help him connect even more to the magic he is already hooked up too. Lafayette is quite surprised that Jesus would know all of that and they both proceed to take the V.
Sam shows up at Merlotte’s and can tell that everyone is nervous around him now. He soon sets them all straight and announces that Calvin is just fine and he didn’t kill him. Holly hands him a bottle of Black Cohash and tells him it’s good for his rage. She tells him that she is a Wiccan. Sam hands it back to her and tells her he has 2 rules at Merlotte’s. One is there is no dancing and 2, there is no talk of religion.
While Terry is out back smoking, Arlene comes out dragging a bag of garbage. Grabbing it from her, he tosses it away for her. Soon, Arlene breaks down in tears and finally confesses to Terry that the baby is Rene’s. After a minute of an inner struggle, Terry tells her that he will raise the baby as his own. Arlene tries to tell him that the baby will grow up evil. Later, Arlene approaches Holly and asks her for help regarding taking care of a baby if you don’t want it.
Jason explains to Sookie about what happened outside of Merlotte’s with Franklin. She tells him that he did the right thing. Jason still carries all the guilt for killing the Vampire Eddy and killing Egg’s. Soon, he opens up and tells Sookie about killing Egg’s. Sookie tells him that he has to tell Tara because he waits any longer, Tara will never forgive him.
Lafayette and Jesus begin to take a journey on the V. They share the same vision and start to see their ancestors performing healing and other rituals to help people. Lafayette sees his great great grandmother and discover that she was a conjurer. A moment later, they take a dark turn and see Jesus’ grandfather practicing the black arts. Jesus tells Lafayette that his mother kept moving him around so that his grandfather couldn’t find him. His grandfather wanted to teach it all to him.
Sookie has another dream about Eric. In her dream, he tells her that he knows she has feelings for him. The two begin to kiss. He also tries to convince her again not to trust Bill. Sookie wakes up suddenly. And runs out.
Jason brings a tray of food into where Tara is laying down. She tells him that she is so grateful for everything he has done. Telling him that all her life, he has always been there to save her. Tara reaches over and gives Jason a kiss. Jason, not being able to handle anymore guilt blurts out that he shot Egg’s. Tara jumps out of bed and runs out crying.
When Jessica wakes up that evening, she is scared and mad that a group of vandals have left a burning cross in their front yard. Before she can take off after them, Bill stops her and tells her that it’s just what they want them to do.
Sam is once again alone and thinks back to when he met back up with Charlene and Jon. As a dog, he watches them at their campsite counting some of the money from the sale of the jewels. Once he sees his opportunity, Sam shifts back into human form and grabs their gun. Demanding his money back, he tells Charlene to get the rest from the truck. One thing leads to another and Sam is faced with a gun held by Charlene. She fires off a shot and so does Sam. Charlene falls down and Sam races to her but it’s too late, she’s dead. Going back to Jon’s prone body, he fires off another shot, killing him too.
Sookie barges into Eric’s office at Fangtasia and demands to know why she shouldn’t trust Bill. Not answering her question but telling her that his biggest regret before he dies is not have ever kissed her. Before she can say anything, Eric reaches over and begins to kiss her. Soon, Sookie is kissing him back. Before anything else can happen, Pam opens the door and tells him it’s a Vampire emergency. Locking Sookie in his office, Eric is faced with an irate Pam. She wants him to turn Sookie over to Russell to save himself. Eric refuses to do that. Pam is shocked that he is choosing a human over himself or even her.
In a dark alley, Russell approaches a male prostitute named Tony. He pays him $1,000 to stay the night with him. Not wanting to turn down that much money, Tony takes off with Russell.
Hoyt shows up at Merlotte’s with a mission. Walking up to Jessica, he tells her that he loves her and he doesn’t care that she’s a Vampire. Telling her that if she tells him that she doesn’t love him back, he will walk out and never bother her about it again. Jessica doesn’t say anything and Hoyt takes that as a no.
Hoyt leaves and Tommy follows him. Tommy shifts into a pit bull and viciously attacks Hoyt. Jessica walks outside and instantly comes to Hoyt’s aid and throws Tommy off of him and into the bushes. Seeing the gaping wound on his arm, Jessica bites open her wrist and demands that Hoyt drink her blood. He refuses at first but then gives in and begins to drink while Tommy watches on.
Jason arrives home after searching all over for Sookie. Bill shows up and is upset because Jason didn’t watch over her like he was supposed to. Telling Jason that he has let him down, Jason can’t take anymore and rescinds his offer for Bill to be in his house. Bill leaves and Jason slams the door on him. Jason hears a noise in the back room and slowly approaches. He gets a surprise when he sees a beautiful black Panther sitting there. Within seconds, the panther turns into Crystal and all Jason can say is “mama”.
Russell is in bed with Tony but begins to only see him as Talbot. He tells him how much he regrets not being there with him in the end. Tony starts to feel a bit uncomfortable and moves to leave but suddenly Russell stakes him in the chest. Russell once again treats Tony as if he was Talbot and lays there with his dead body.
Eric comes back to his office and Sookie tells him that this is why she couldn’t trust him. He had locked her in. Not really listening to her, he picks her up and tosses he over his shoulders. Eric brings her to his basement and locks her up in the chains.
