ET caught up with Kristin Bauer van Straten to talk True Blood and her character Pam.
Check out what she has to say here.
Below is an excerpt:
ETonline: Looking back on season five, what were your thoughts?
Kristin Bauer van Straten: Oh man, it was such a good Pam year. I waited so long for that backstory — just to know what it was and see what it looked like and once it arrived on paper, I thought it was just so perfect. It was so fun to get in the clothes, get in the locations that looked like 1905, see Alex [Skarsgard, who plays Eric] in 1905 clothes, to see my brothel. Everything about it explained Pam to me in a new way and that was my favorite part. Why is she so unsympathetic? Because she came from a hard life when it was hard to be a woman and she did this hard profession. Why is she a vampire who is the least apologetic about being a vampire? Because she chose that life. She forced Eric to change her. I loved that writing so much.
What has it been like to be involved in a show like “True Blood” with such a devoted fan base? What kind of adventures have you had because of it?
I get these looks, where people are like, “Did we go to high school together?” Then they have the realization that I’m Tara’s mother, and it’s like, “Oh!” It’s fun. It helps sometimes at the airport. [laughs] Getting through security; maybe I don’t get profiled as much as I used to. [Some people say], “Wow, you look so much better in real life.” But maybe I’m projecting. Maybe every once in a while, someone is smiling at me and it’s because they think I’m an attractive person, and it’s not because of Lettie Mae. Or it might be some other show that I’ve done. So I kind of project sometimes and I want to make people feel at ease. So I go, “Hi!” as they’re staring at me. “It’s okay, how are you!” And they might think, “Why are you talking to me? I don’t know you. I just think your kid is cute.” [laughs]
Join the cast on Friday, May 24th at 9:45PM to look back on Season 5 of True Blood. I’m assuming they are posting another video, but not sure. Judging from the preview above sounds like it’s gonna be a lot of fun
AX: Will we be seeing you back on TRUE BLOOD, where your character Jesus is dead but not departed?
ALEJANDRO: You know what? TRUE BLOOD, you can see Jesus at any moment, I’m sure. It’s TRUE BLOOD. Everybody comes back. Absolutely. I love being part of that show. If the timing was permitted, and they just started shooting, so it looks like there could be a window for that to happen, if they wanted, I would absolutely go back.
Luna! When last we saw Sam’s oft-undressed lady friend, she was accidentally skin-walking on national television — and Janina Gavankar recently told HollywoodLife.com there will be hell to pay when the show returns June 16.
“She just outed everyone in the shifter community, so now the world knows there’s more than one supernatural creature on this earth,” Janina explained. “Holy. F**k. Imagine being a human watching that. As it is, you have to deal with the idea of there being vampires. This is potentially bad for every shifter on the planet.”
Anna Camp talked True Blood season 6 with E! Online:
Bella: I’ve been loving your True Blood spoilers! Got anymore?
Do you remember when Anna Camp’s character paid a sexy visit to Jason Stackhouse while he was in the tub? Ahhh, memories. Anyway, Camp told us that in the upcoming season of T.B. “we’re going to see a lot more” of that kind of stuff! Huzzah! “Everybody gets really, really naked,” she previews. “But that’s what the show is, and that’s HBO, and I love that kind of stuff.” So do we, Ms. Camp. So do we.
