Vampires are everywhere these days. And now the steamiest bloodsuckers of the bayou have a comic book of their own.
For those who can’t get enough of HBO’s True Blood, which returns for a third season in June, a six-issue comic book miniseries from IDW Publishing will make its debut at the San Diego Comic-Con in July.
Creators of the blood-drenched show have teamed with comic veterans for new stories of Sookie Stackhouse, her undead lover, Bill Compton, and the rest of the sex-crazed cast of mythical Bon Temps, La.
The first issue includes four alternate covers and a story line that traps the cast with an unnamed beast in Merlotte’s Bar.

Charlaine interview

Bitten By Books has an interview with Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse books. She talks about writing, future books and Sookie.
Read the entire interview here.
Here is an excerpt from the interview:
BBB: What are the most challenging and the most rewarding aspects of writing?
CH: Challenges? Every day is a challenge. I hate to use a sea metaphor, but being a writer is like being the entire crew of a large ship. To extend that, when you reach your destination in one piece . . . that’s a great reward.
BBB: Do you consider different books paranormal romance or urban fantasy? and do you think it is important to distinguish between the two?
CH: It’s not important to me personally, no. But to the people shelving the books it’s quite important, because readers are looking for a book skewed more to romance or more to adventure, and they want to look in the right place.
