Sam Merlotte – Sam Trammell

Sam Merlotte is the owner of Merlotte’s, a bar and grill where Sookie Stackhouse works as a waitress. Sam has a romantic interest in Sookie, but they continue to just remain good friends. He does have a dark secret. Sam Merlotte is a shapeshifter and is able to change forms at will. His favorite form is of a collie, but can change into almost any animal. Much like werewolves, Sam feels the affects of a full moon and the need to change. He doesn’t have much luck with the ladies and his brother is Tommy Mickens.

Sam Trammell plays Sam Merlotte on True Blood. He is most widely known for his performances on stage and was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Actor for Ah, Wilderness! Sam has had many guest appearances on TV shows such as Cold Case, Dexter, Bones, and Numb3rs. A recent role in a movie was of Tim O’Brien in Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem.
