Sam Merlotte – Sam Trammell

Sam Merlotte is the owner of Merlotte’s, a bar and grill where Sookie Stackhouse works as a waitress. He does have a dark secret. Sam Merlotte is a shapeshifter and is able to change forms at will. His favorite form is of a collie, but can change into almost any animal. Much like werewolves, Sam feels the affects of a full moon and the need to change. His brother is Tommy Mickens. He is romantically involved with shapeshifter Luna. When his brother is killed my the local werewolf pack Sam and Alcide kill the pack leader Marcus.

Sam Trammell plays Sam Merlotte on True Blood. He is most widely known for his performances on stage and was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Actor for Ah, Wilderness! Sam has had many guest appearances on TV shows such as Cold Case, Dexter, Bones, and Numb3rs. A recent role in a movie was of Tim O’Brien in Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem.
