Lafayette Reynolds – Nelsan Ellis

Lafayette Reynolds is the flamboyant and outgoing cousin of Tara Thornton. An entrepreneur, Lafayette wears many hats. He is a cook at Merlotte’s, a male prostitute and a drug dealer who sells “V”, vampire blood. In the small town of Bon Temps, he stands out due to his love of makeup, women’s clothing, and men. He is dating Jesus. Jesus tells Lafayette that he is a brujo and talk him into joining his coven. Lafayette learns that he is a medium and can see and speak to ghosts. After Marnie the witch is killed she take possession of Lafayette’s body. Marnie kills Jesus while possessing Lafayette. Lafayette is devastated by the loss. Marnie leaves his body and Jesus ghost then visits Lafayette.

Nelsan Ellis plays Lafayette reynolds in the True Blood series. He grew up in Illinois and Alabama and attended Juliard. Nelsan is best known for his role on True Blood, but he has made appearances on Without a Trace, Veronica Mars, and other TV shows.
